Michael Hartner was a visiting researcher at the Microgrids Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from May to October 2014. As a PhD-candidate at the Energy Economics Group, Vienna University of Technology (Austria) his research focuses on the value of Photovoltaic from a household and an electricity system perspective. He is also working on Embedded Energy and Environmental Input-Output Analysis and is involved in lectures and teaching issues at the institute. At LBNL he was working on operational constraints of distributed generation technologies in DER-CAM.
Michael has a Diploma degree (M.S. equivalent) in Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Additionally he visited lectures in physics, management, energy economics and optimization at the Vienna University of Technology (Austria), the NTNU Trondheim (Norway) and the Gadja Mada University (Indonesia).
